GAJA NATURAL PARK - CHITTANDA

Elephants, revered as keystone species, face existential threats from habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. This project outlines the establishment of an Elephant Rehabilitation Center (ERC) dedicated to rescuing injured, orphaned, or trafficked elephants, rehabilitating them for potential release, and fostering coexistence between elephants and local communities. We acquired around 30 acres of land at Chittanda, Thrissur district, Kerala for this purpose. By integrating veterinary science, ecological research, and community empowerment, the ERC aims to become a global model for ethical wildlife conservation.
